Our crab meat has a refrigerated shelf life of 12 months. Each can also has a Sell By date on the bottom of it, which can also be used as a "Use By/Eat By" date.
We do not recommend freezing the cans of crab meat, if you can avoid it. Once frozen and then thawed, the crab meat will taste a bit different than ideal (slightly inferior flavor and texture). However, if you NEED to freeze the crab meat, you certainly can, as long as you are aware of the impact on quality.

I was looking for really good crab to make crab cakes for a special occasion. I searched on the web and found the website for North Coast Seafoods. Read the reviews and although always leary if the reviews are true or not, ordered the canned crab, shrimp and scallops. ALL WERE DELICIOUS! When I opened the bag of shrimp it smelled like the ocean, the crab was awesome and the scallops were perfect. Definately my new go to for seafood! The reviews were spot-on! This is our third order of the colossal crab meat and the quality and taste are outstanding. My wife uses the crab meat to make a crab louis salad and crab cakes. The crab meat is better than what you get in a restaurant!
